When you upload a photo, it is sent to an external image processing service to create your portrait. We use Google Gemini (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland) and, as a backup if Gemini is unavailable, OpenAI image models via fal.ai (Features and Labels, Inc., USA). Your photo is used only to create your portraits and is not used for any other purpose. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).

Payments are processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin, Ireland). Your payment details are sent directly to Stripe; we never see your card number. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR and our legitimate interest in secure payment processing (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

To send emails (for example your download link, or a preview link you requested) we use Resend (Resend Inc., USA). Your email address is passed to Resend for this purpose only. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Your order data (email address, order status, created images) is stored with Supabase (Supabase Inc., USA). Uploaded photos and created portraits are kept in Supabase Storage so you can download your portrait after purchase. For quality assurance and troubleshooting we also store technical log data about the image processing (for example the chosen style and processing time), based on our legitimate interest in a reliable service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

This website is hosted by Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA). When you visit the site, technical data (IP address, browser type, time of access) is recorded in server log files. We use Vercel Analytics to count page views anonymously, without cookies and without storing personal data. We also record anonymous usage events (for example "photo uploaded") together with your country, without storing your IP address. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

After your purchase you can choose to share your portrait in our gallery and on our social media channels. This only happens with your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Your portrait is then shown together with the horse's name, if you entered one, and a shortened name (for example "Lisa M."). You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing hello@yourhorseportrait.com.

We only use technically necessary cookies and browser storage that the website needs to work, for example to keep your portraits when you reload the page. These do not require consent.

Some of the services named above are based in the USA. Where personal data is transferred there, this is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the EU standard contractual clauses.

You have the right to access, correct, delete and restrict the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability and the right to object (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To use these rights, email us at hello@yourhorseportrait.com. Residents of California and other US states can use the same address to make privacy requests; we do not sell or share personal data for advertising.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Our supervisory authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
